Fostering Cultural Connections: Armenian Elegance at Tsinghua University’s New Year Gala

On December 12th, the School of Public Policy and Administration at Tsinghua University, China, hosted its festive New Year Gala, attended by a diverse gathering of foreign and Chinese students. The event was graced by the presence of Armenian student, TUS-EST chief representative of international affairs, Sirarpi Nikoghosyan, who served as the evening’s host. Sirarpi warmly welcomed the guests and highlighted the school’s remarkable achievements in 2024.
A standout moment was Sirarpi’s attire—a replica of the traditional Armenian costume from Karin (Erzrum). This stunning ensemble featured a rich admiral-blue gown adorned with lace, complemented by a burgundy apron intricately embroidered with golden-thread motifs and a handcrafted headpiece embellished with beads and lace. This exquisite attire belongs to the ChinArmArt collection, the only repository of Armenian national costumes in China.
